Fishing is a billion-dollar industry here in New England, but it’s not one big company. Commercial fishermen are a collection of rugged individuals who don’t have corporate support or a huge Human Resources department working on their behalf.
The idea behind the Fishing Partnership emerged from the fishing industry itself. Local fishing leaders got together and agreed that even though their fisheries had different interests, they could all benefit from an organization dedicated to the health and well-being of their families.
Fishing Partnership Health Plan is now Fishing Partnership Support Services. While we’re no longer a health plan, we’re here to support the health, safety, and quality of life of fishing families.
Our leaders and board members have extensive experience in both health care and the local fishing industry. Bringing new ideas about how to improve access to health care for fishing families is everyone’s job.

Navigators & Offices
Our Fishing Partnership Navigators understand the needs of fishing families because they come from fishing families themselves. They are trained Community Health Workers who can advise fishing families and refer them to the proper services and support.
